Karuppu, starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, is gearing up for its theatrical release, with promotions already underway. As part of the buzz, the makers recently dropped a promo teaser introducing Trisha’s character, which quickly grabbed fans’ attention and heightened excitement around the film. However, her absence from the audio launch event held on April 26 in Chennai became a major talking point online, with many wondering why she skipped the key promotional appearance.
Soon after the promo was shared, fans flooded social media with praise for Trisha’s appearance, admiring how youthful she looked in the film. One user even remarked that she seemed to be 'aging in reverse' and questioned when she had last worked with Suriya before Karuppu. Trisha herself noticed the comment and reshared it, replying with a witty remark that caught attention. Thanking the fan, she jokingly added that even she had forgotten and was glad someone had finally reminded her, further adding to the online chatter around the film.
Trisha Krishnan’s reply soon sparked debate online, with some users questioning her tone. One comment took a dig at her absence from the audio launch, asking if her sarcasm was necessary.
Trisha didn’t hold back and responded sharply, saying, "Guess my invite got lost in the mail :)" Her comeback quickly went viral, dividing opinion on social media. While some criticised her reaction, others came out in her support.
Amid the buzz, Trisha Krishnan shared a birthday month post, hinting at turning 43 on May 4. In Karuppu, she plays a lawyer named Preethi, with glimpses of her role seen in the teaser; the film, directed by RJ Balaji and co-starring Suriya, is set to release on May 14, 2026.
