Actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani recently opened up about his relationship with his wife and actress Rakul Preet Singh, sharing a refreshing and honest perspective on marriage. Despite being happily married, Jackky described their bond as a situationship, highlighting their emotional independence and strong communication. Their candid conversation has caught attention for redefining modern relationships in a simple yet meaningful way.
Jackky Calls Marriage With Rakul Preet A Situationship
Recently, Rakul and Jackky appeared in an episode of Zingabad on the YouTube channel, where they shared their thoughts about situationship and marriage. When asked about why Gen-Z see situationship better than a serious relationship or marriage? To this, Jacky said, “Nahi, aajkal ki Genz situationship kyu chahti hai. Kyunki unhe wo pressure of expectations aur bandishe nhi chahiye hota hai.”
He added, “Rakul and I are married, but we are like in a situationship… we are exclusive to each other because that’s why we are married. But the most important thing is that I can talk to her about anything.” For him, the foundation of their bond is openness and comfort rather than traditional expectations.

Jackky also mentioned that he doesn’t hide anything from Rakul —even answering calls from ex-partners openly, even on speakerphones. He said, “For example agar meri ex-girlfriend ka phone aaya aur ye bagal me baithi hai mai speaker par baat karta hu.” To this, Rakul replied, “I think we are best friends.” He believes that transparency removes any feeling of pressure or suffocation and strengthens trust between them.
A Relationship Built on Individual Happiness
Jackky revealed that both he and Rakul value their personal happiness. He said they entered marriage as emotionally secure individuals, not looking for someone to complete them. He shared, “Humne ek dusre ko bola hai ki hum 20-21 saal ke nhi rahe ab. Individually, mai happy person hu and together we are happier.” (We told each other that we are not 20-21 years old anymore. Individually, I am a happy person and together, we are happier). Rakul also added that their relationship is not about dependency but understanding deeper priorities in life.
