Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh recently received relief after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) withdrew its non-cooperation directive against him. The action had been taken following a dispute linked to his exit from Don 3. During a press conference, CINTAA General Secretary and actress Upasana Singh, famously known as Bua ji in Kapil Sharma comedy night show, openly supported Ranveer Singh, praising his contribution to the film industry and urging industry bodies to reconsider the decision against him.

Actress Upasana Singh Praises Ranveer Singh’s Contribution To Film Industry

Speaking at the event, Upasana highlighted Ranveer Singh’s importance to Bollywood, especially at a time when many films have struggled at the box office. She credited the actor’s recent successes for bringing positive momentum to the industry.

She said, “Ranveer Singh aise actor hai jisne industry ko khada kar diya hai. Kitni filmein flop hui hai aur humari industry kis halaton se guzar rahi hai, aur unki Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2 ne jo business kiya hai, unhone history bana diya hai. Aise actors ki bohot zarurat hai, jinki filmein log like karein...”

Actress Shares Her Son Watched Dhurandhar Several Times

The actress also shared a story from her own family to explain the popularity of Ranveer’s work. According to Upasana, her son has watched Dhurandhar several times and still wants to see it again. She said this reflects the strong connection audiences have formed with the film and its lead star.

Ranveer Singh's Success Helps The Entire Industry: Upasna Singh

Upasana also stressed that a hit film benefits more than just actors, producers or directors. She pointed out that successful projects create opportunities and financial stability for many people working behind the scenes, including technicians, cameramen, lightmen, spot boys and other crew members.

FWICE Reconsidered Its Stand Against Ranveer Singh

In a separate conversation with IANS, Upasana said she did not believe anyone was deliberately trying to harm Ranveer’s career. She stated, “It does not seem that there was any pressure because, first of all, these people are not the kind who would want anything bad to happen to Ranveer Singh. Sometimes we make wrong decisions and then we change after realising it. This is good.”

Why FWICE Banned Ranveer Singh? 

The dispute began after filmmaker and actor Farhan Akhtar reportedly raised concerns over Ranveer’s exit from Don 3, claiming it caused major financial losses. Farhan Akhtar reportedly asked Rs 40 crore in compensation. The matter eventually reached FWICE, which later decided to withdraw its directive against the actor.
