Gaurav Gera Reveals The Intense Scene He Auditioned For In Dhurandhar That Stood Out Later

Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar and its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge have been making headlines since they hit theatres. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel film Dhurandhar 2 was released on March 19, 2026, and is performing strongly at the global box office, crossing Rs 1600 crore and earning widespread praise. Alongside the lead cast, supporting actors are also being noticed. Recently, Gaurav Gera, who played Mohammad Aalam, the juice shop owner in the film, revealed that the scene he auditioned for later became one of the film’s most important moments.

Gaurav Gera plays the role of Mohammed Alam in the film, who was the only support of Hamza, an Indian spy in Pakistan. 

In a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Gaurav revealed that the audition was based on an intense and emotionally heavy scene and that the scene only became very famous after the film was released.

That particular sequence was when Alam takes the blame for Pinda’s death in Dhurandhar 2, making it a turning point in the storyline. Gaurav shared that this was the exact scene he was asked to perform during his audition.

Audition Experience And Preparation

Gaurav also mentioned that he was called to casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s office for the audition. He was given the same intense scene to perform. According to him, the moment was not surprising because he had already prepared himself for such a powerful role. He understood the emotional depth required for the character right from the beginning.

Gaurav Realised His Character’s Importance During Narration

Gaurav explained that while narrating the story, he came to know about the importance of his character. It was clear to him that his character, Alam, would become an important part of the story and would have a close connection with the main character of the story, Hamza. Moreover, he was fully aware that the role was liked by the viewers due to its significance.

Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Success 

Dhurandhar 2 has been a massive success since its release. The film has earned Rs 1,023.77 crore in India and Rs 1,625.72 crore worldwide so far. The movie features a strong cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun, who have all received praise for their performances.
