In Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Danish Iqbal presented Dawood Ibrahim as a broken, fading man, physically weak, coughing through his words, yet still holding on to his threats against India. Speaking to Daily Jagran, the actor called it a 'very strong and powerful character', even as he acknowledged the gangster's long and serious criminal history in India. He said portraying Dawood Ibrahim (Bade Sahab) meant stepping into a mindset where the lines between right and wrong went blur.
Dhurandhar 2 actor said, "Of course, he was a human being after all, he was not any alien or anything like that, so I tried to maintain that element of power and at the same time to humanize him so that people believe in this character, whatever I am doing, whatever I am saying, my lines and all those dilemmas and that power should come out and it should come out in a way which is like believable and human. So yes, I tried saying those lines in a very, I mean in a possible way."
Danish Iqbal discussed portraying a gangster with a lengthy criminal history in India. "Since I am playing this character, so for me the right and wrong things were very blurred. Because you know that person has its own reason to be the way he was."

"So I am playing a character which is very strong and powerful and I can't be judgmental about myself as an actor, as a character. So for me I am the hero and that is what I told myself and that is the reason why that power thing is coming out so well that people are appreciating it. So yeah, and this decision that this character would look like this aur wo is bimaari se guzar raha hai, bed pe hai, yeh saara creative decision script mein tha.

Danish Iqbal On Dhurandhar 2 Propaganda Claims
Danish Iqbal has denied claims that Dhurandhar 2 is a propaganda movie, calling them absurd. He commended the skill of filmmaker Aditya Dhar. He emphasized that it should only be viewed as a movie and nothing else.
"I can only see that it's a film and it should be taken like a film only. And no, I don't see that anywhere Aditya sir has claimed that it's a documentary. No, it's a fiction thing and certain stories are woven in such a manner which looks like as if everything is real. So, credit goes to the filmmaking craft. And that is the beauty of Duryodhan that people are liking it so much. I mean, they have shown so much of their love. So, it's a film. One should look at it like that only."
