Yashasvi Jaiswal's unbeaten century and Rohit Sharma's fluent knock guided India to a comfortable nine-wicket win over Afghanistan in the third and final ODI on Saturday, helping the hosts complete a 3-0 series sweep.

Chasing 219, India never looked under pressure. Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 110 off 86 balls, while Rohit made 79 from 69 deliveries as the pair put together a 170-run opening stand that effectively sealed the contest. India reached 224 for 1 in just 28.4 overs.

The result capped off a dominant performance from the hosts and overshadowed a fighting century from Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, who scored 102 runs after his side suffered an early collapse.

Rohit and Jaiswal came out with positive intent and kept the scoreboard moving from the start. While Rohit took a few deliveries to settle in, he soon found his rhythm and played several trademark strokes. Jaiswal looked comfortable throughout the innings and attacked both the pace bowlers and spinners with confidence.

The left-hander reached his fifty in 38 balls and later brought up his second ODI hundred in 83 deliveries. Rohit also completed a well-made half-century before falling while attempting a pull shot, ending the opening partnership.

By then, however, the match was all but over. Jaiswal stayed till the end and finished the chase with a six.

Earlier, Afghanistan chose to bat first but lost four wickets inside the first 10 overs. Prasidh Krishna led India's charge with an outstanding spell, picking up five wickets for 23 runs.

The fast bowler struck regularly with the new ball, removing Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah and Darwish Rasooli as Afghanistan slipped to 36 for 4.

Just when a low total seemed likely, Shahidi and Azmatullah Omarzai rebuilt the innings. The pair added 105 runs for the fifth wicket and gave Afghanistan some hope. Omarzai scored a useful 50 before being dismissed.

Shahidi continued to hold one end together and completed his maiden ODI century despite struggling with cramps during the latter stages of his innings. He also shared another important partnership with Mohammad Nabi to push Afghanistan past the 200-run mark.

However, wickets fell quickly towards the end and Afghanistan were eventually bowled out for 218 in 44.2 overs.

India's batters then made light work of the chase, completing another convincing victory to finish the series unbeaten.
