The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the key dates for the 2027 season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

The fifth edition of the tournament will be played from January 14 to February 7, 2027, while the player auction will take place on October 28, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt Kochi.

The BCCI has not yet revealed the cities that will host the WPL matches.

Before the auction, all five franchises must submit their player retention lists by September 28. This will give teams the chance to keep players from their current squads and start planning for the upcoming season.

The auction will then allow the franchises to complete their squads and make changes ahead of the new campaign.

The WPL has grown into an important platform for women’s cricket, bringing together leading players from India and around the world while allowing young cricketers to showcase their talent.

Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the last edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 to clinch their second title. The last edition of the tournament was played in Navi Mumbai and Baroda.

Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the most successful franchises in the history of the tournament, which was started in 2023.
