Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ended their dream Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season on a high by beating Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final on May 31 and winning their second straight IPL title at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

One of the biggest reasons behind RCB’s success was Virat Kohli, who once again stepped up when it mattered the most. The star batter remained unbeaten on 75 runs from just 42 balls in the final and played a key role throughout the tournament.

During the post-match celebrations, Kohli also entertained fans with a funny comment aimed at Gujarat Titans. RCB’s popular insider and content creator, Danish Sait, better known as Mr. Nags, was interviewing players as part of the team’s celebrations when Kohli came up with a witty one-liner.

Has Kohli taken an indirect dig at GT?

In a video shared on RCB’s official YouTube channel, Kohli playfully twisted GT’s famous slogan and said:

“Trophy aava de and home java de! Thank you very much.”  [Timestamp: 04:45]

The joke quickly went viral among fans, who saw it as a light-hearted dig at Gujarat after RCB denied them the IPL trophy.

RCB were outstanding throughout the season and completed a successful title defence with another dominant performance in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They first restricted the Gujarat Titans to 155 runs and then chased down the target comfortably, winning by five wickets.

Kohli led the chase with a calm and composed innings, finishing unbeaten on 75 and guiding his team to victory.

Kohli, who already retired from T20Is, flexed his form in the IPL 2026, smashing 675 runs in 16 matches at an average of 56.25 and an impressive strike rate of 165.84. His campaign included one century and four half-centuries, proving once again why he remains one of the most dependable players in the IPL.
