Pakistan’s young batting star Saim Ayub has built a reputation for his aggressive approach and fearless strokeplay at the top of the order. But in recent months, the left-handed batter has struggled to find consistency, and his dip in form eventually cost him a place in Pakistan’s Test squad for the ongoing Bangladesh tour.

Since being left out of the squad, Saim has been focusing heavily on improving his game. The 22-year-old has been spending extra hours in training, trying to regain rhythm ahead of future assignments. However, one of his recent practice sessions unexpectedly became a major talking point on social media.

A video featuring Saim Ayub during a net session has gone viral online. In the clip, the Pakistan batter is seen facing deliveries from a 9-year-old boy. However, the young bowler stole the limelight as his impressive delivery went straight through Saim’s defence and rattled the stumps.

The dismissal quickly spread across social media platforms, with fans reacting in surprise and many joking about the moment. Several users also trolled the Pakistan cricketer after the clip gained traction online.

Despite the viral moment, Saim handled the situation with maturity and sportsmanship. After being bowled, he smiled, appreciated the young boy’s effort and even signed the ball for him, turning it into a special memory for the child.

Forgetful PSL 2026 Season For Saim Ayub

Saim Ayub recently featured in the Pakistan Super League 2026 season for Hyderabad Kingsmen. While the franchise managed to reach the final, Saim could not produce the kind of performances fans expected from him.

The left-handed batter played 13 matches during the tournament and scored 258 runs at a strike rate of 119.44. For a player known for his attacking batting style, those numbers were seen as disappointing.

His contribution with the ball was also limited. Saim bowled in 12 innings across the season and managed to pick up only five wickets.
