After missing out on India's first three matches of their tour of the UK, the young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has hinted that his India debut could finally be close.
The 15-year-old opener, who became one of the biggest talking points in cricket after a stunning IPL 2026 season with Rajasthan Royals, shared a short message on his Instagram story before the second T20I against England.

"New chapter," he wrote, leaving fans wondering if he is about to receive his first India cap.
Sooryavanshi was picked for the senior national team after an incredible IPL campaign. He scored 776 runs at an eye-catching strike rate of 237.30, making him one of the most exciting young players in the tournament.
Despite his impressive form, he is still waiting for his international debut.
India started the UK tour with a two-match T20I series against Ireland, but Sooryavanshi did not get a chance to play in either game. He was also left out of the first T20I against England. That match was washed out by rain after only India's innings was completed.
So far, the team management has decided to continue with the top-order trio of Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan, the same batting combination that played a key role in India's 2026 T20 World Cup triumph.
Head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shreyas Iyer have supported that decision. They have said they do not want to change a winning batting lineup and believe Sooryavanshi will get his opportunity when the time is right. They have also urged the young batter to stay patient.
Still, many former cricketers and fans have questioned why such a talented youngster has not been given a chance yet. With the excitement around his debut continuing to grow, many believe it is only a matter of time before he takes the field for India.
India now have another opportunity to hand Sooryavanshi his long-awaited debut when they face England in the second T20I of the five-match series on Saturday.
