It has been a difficult period for Suryakumar Yadav. The star batter, who recently lost his place in India’s T20I setup and was removed from the captaincy role, is now facing one of the toughest phases of his career.
Making a comeback to the Indian team will not be easy, and there are now fresh doubts about his future with the Mumbai Indians (MI) as well. On Monday, fans noticed that almost all traces of the franchise had disappeared from Suryakumar’s Instagram profile, sparking rumours that his association with the five-time IPL champions could be coming to an end.
Suryakumar has been a key part of Mumbai Indians since joining the franchise from Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018. Over the years, he played several important knocks and established himself as one of the team’s most dependable batters. However, after a disappointing IPL 2026 season, there is growing speculation that both player and franchise could be looking at a fresh start.

Fans were quick to spot several changes on Suryakumar’s Instagram account. He removed MI's skipper Hardik Pandya from his profile. However, there are rumors that Suryakumar Yadav unfollowed Mumbai Indians but when Jagran checked his Instagram, the stylish batter is following MI.
SKY deleted all MI pictures?
In addition, Suryakumar deleted all Mumbai Indians-related photos and videos from his profile. The only remaining picture connected to the IPL side is one featuring him alongside Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni. He has also changed his profile picture, adding further fuel to the speculation.

SKY's IPL 2026 performance
On the field, Suryakumar endured a forgettable IPL 2026 campaign. He scored 270 runs in the season at an average of 20.77 and managed only two half-centuries. Mumbai Indians also struggled throughout the tournament, finishing ninth in the ten-team standings.
While neither Suryakumar nor Mumbai Indians have made any official statement, the social media activity has certainly caught the attention of fans and raised questions about what comes next for the experienced batter.
