Young Rajasthan Royals (RR) batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again grabbed the spotlight with a breathtaking knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2026 on Wednesday at Mullanpur. The teenage batter played one of the most explosive innings of the season, hammering 97 runs off just 27 balls and leaving cricket fans stunned.

Sachin Tendulkar's praise for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

His fearless batting also impressed cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, who praised the youngster on social media platform X.

“Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s bat swing has been outstanding,” Tendulkar wrote. He also admired the youngster’s technique and confidence against bowlers targeting his pads.

“What’s even more remarkable is how beautifully he clears his front foot to create room for balls aimed at his legs. This freedom allows him to play the way he does,” Tendulkar added.

The batting great called the innings “nothing short of spectacular” as the 15-year-old dominated the SRH bowling attack from the very beginning.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi impressed Kevin Pietersen

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen was equally amazed by the youngster’s power-hitting. Reacting to one of Vaibhav’s massive shots, Pietersen posted on X, “Sooryavanshi is an absolute joke! My goodness. That six over cover.”

Vaibhav attacked the bowlers right from the start and reached his half-century in only 16 balls. His aggressive approach helped Rajasthan Royals race to 80 runs inside the powerplay before crossing the 100-run mark in just eight overs.

The opener smashed 12 huge sixes and five boundaries during his stunning knock. He also stitched together a brilliant 125-run partnership that completely shifted the momentum in the Rajasthan Royals’ favour.

Just when a century looked certain, Vaibhav was dismissed for 97 by Praful Hinge, falling only three runs short of a record-breaking hundred. Soon after, Shivang Kumar removed Yashasvi Jaiswal for 29.

Later, Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag kept the momentum going with a quick partnership of 55 runs for the third wicket. Jurel brought up his fifty in just 20 balls before Hinge struck again.
