India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal joined the cricket fraternity in wishing Virat Kohli on his 38th birthday on Thursday, November 5.

Chahal took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a heartfelt message for the former India captain, wishing him good health and more success in the years ahead.

Kohli celebrated his birthday in style, scoring a brilliant 74 off 51 balls during India’s rain-shortened first ODI against New Zealand in Auckland on Wednesday. The Indian batting great helped his team chase down the target of 143 runs with ease.

The birthday also marks another milestone in Kohli’s international career as he enters his 19th year in international cricket. Over the years, the 38-year-old has experienced several highs and lows while establishing himself as one of the greatest batters to have played the game.

Chahal and Kohli share a long association, having spent eight seasons together at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) between 2014 and 2021. During this period, Chahal picked up 139 wickets for the franchise.

The leg-spinner was also part of India’s squad that won the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies. However, he did not get an opportunity to play a single match in the tournament. His last appearance for India came in a T20I against the West Indies on August 13, 2023.
