Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have shared great news on spinner Varun Chakaravarthy's fitness ahead of their important IPL 2026 match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at Eden Gardens.

The Kolkata-based franchise confirmed that Varun has started bowling again in the nets, which is a positive sign as he continues to recover from injury.

“He bowled in the nets today at Eden Gardens. The medical team and coaching staff are keeping a close eye on his progress and availability for tomorrow,” KKR said in an official statement.

The team management is now carefully monitoring his fitness before taking a final call on whether he will play against Gujarat Titans.

Varun has been one of KKR’s key bowlers this season, and his return would give a big boost to the side at a crucial stage of the tournament.

Rachin Ravindra left KKR squad

Meanwhile, KKR have also confirmed that Rachin Ravindra has left the squad and returned home to prepare for New Zealand national cricket team’s upcoming Test tour of England.

“Rachin Ravindra has returned home to begin his red-ball preparations for New Zealand's upcoming Test tour to England,” the franchise stated.

KKR IPL Qualification scenario

KKR are still in the race for the playoffs but remain under pressure in the points table. The three-time champions are currently placed eighth.

So far, KKR have played 11 matches, winning four and losing six, while one game ended without a result. They currently have nine points with a Net Run Rate of -0.198.
