IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings, five-time IPL champions, have suffered a significant setback ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season as Australian pacer Nathan Ellis is ruled out of the upcoming season due to a hamstring injury.

The 31-year-old pacer was poised to lead CSK's pace attack, particularly with Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana now with the Kolkata Knight Riders.

"Yes, he is out. We have not yet decided on the replacement," a CSK official told PTI.

CSK squad was bolstered by Ellis's 19 wickets from 17 IPL matches, acquired for Rs 2 crore at the 2025 mega auction following stints with Punjab Kings, and retained for 2026.
