The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced India's ODI squad against West Indies, which is scheduled to start from September 27. India are scheduled to play a three-match ODI series followed by a five-match T20I series against the Caribbean side.
Former India captain Rohit Sharma, who was making a lot of retirement rumours during India's last assignment against England, has been included in the ODI squad. Shubman Gill will lead the side in the fifty-over format, and KL Rahul will be his deputy. Shreyas Iyer, who was India's ODI vice-captain during the England series, has missed out as the Mumbai batter will be busy with Asian Games 2026 duty.

Apart from that, Jammu & Kashmir speedster Auqib Nabi and Punjab batter Naman Dhir also get their ODI maiden call-up for the upcoming series. India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and superstar all-rounder Hardik Pandya have missed out on the squad. Hardik is currently on the road to recovery from an injury, and Pant was supposed to be the backup wicketkeeper for the series.
