IND vs ZIM: Shreyas Iyer Shares Winning Formula After India's Dominant T20I Series Sweep Over Zimbabwe

India captain Shreyas Iyer praised his young team after they completed a convincing 3-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe with a 35-run win in the third and final match in Harare on Sunday.

The visitors produced another impressive all-round performance to finish the series unbeaten, with teenage opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again leading the way with the bat.

Iyer applauds fearless approach

Speaking after the victory, Iyer said he was delighted with the fearless attitude shown by the young players throughout the series.

"As we saw, how fearlessly they are. A young bunch of players showing tremendous energy and intent on the field.To have that kind of energy is what I demand as a captain and we saw that."

The India skipper said the clean sweep was a reward for the confidence and maturity shown by a squad that included several young players.

He also explained the message that was repeatedly shared inside the dressing room during the series. According to Iyer, the team focused on staying calm, playing with courage and concentrating on performance instead of worrying about the result.

"The amount of calmness that we possess and if we show the same courage going forward, it's going to be good for Indian cricket.If we keep levelling up and not think about the results... that's the message we gave to the players. It doesn't matter what situation we are facing, we just have to perform to the best of our abilities and see the team through."

Sooryavanshi shines again

India posted 192 for five after being asked to bat first, thanks largely to another outstanding innings from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The 15-year-old scored 81 from 49 balls, striking eight fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 165.31. It was another mature performance from the youngster, who finished the series as one of India's biggest positives.

Ishan Kishan supported him with 29, while captain Shreyas Iyer added 27. Tilak Varma scored 11 before Rinku Singh provided the late acceleration with an unbeaten 25 off just 14 balls.

Bowlers complete the job

Zimbabwe never managed to keep pace with the required run rate during the chase and finished on 157 for seven.

Ryan Burl remained unbeaten on 54, while Wessly Madhevere made 28. Ben Curran scored 20 and Brad Evans added 14, but none of them could produce the big partnership Zimbabwe needed.

India's pace attack once again made the difference. Mayank Yadav led the bowling effort with three wickets, while Yash Thakur picked up two. Ashok Sharma and Ravi Bishnoi claimed one wicket each as India completed another comfortable victory and sealed the series without dropping a match.
