IND vs ZIM, 2nd T20I: Ishan Kishan Steals The Show As India Humiliate Zimbabwe To Seal T20I Series

India sealed the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe with one game to spare after a convincing 90-run win in the second match at Harare on Saturday. The victory also ended their recent run of disappointing T20I series losses against Ireland and England. Under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy, India now hold an unassailable 2-0 lead ahead of the final game on Sunday.

India were asked to bat first after Zimbabwe won the toss. The innings began quietly as Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for eight. Vaibhav Suryavanshi then entertained with a quick 20 off just nine balls, hitting one six before departing.

The real foundation came from Ishan Kishan, who continued his fine form with a brilliant 81 off 44 balls. He struck nine fours and two sixes and kept the scoreboard moving throughout his stay at the crease.

Tilak Varma added the finishing touch with an unbeaten 60 from only 29 deliveries. His knock included five fours and three sixes, and together with Ishan, he helped India post a strong total of 219/5 in 20 overs.

Zimbabwe needed a solid start in reply, and Brian Bennett tried to provide one with a lively 32 off 19 balls, including three fours and three sixes. However, he found little support from the other batters.

Once India broke through the top order, Zimbabwe struggled to recover. The hosts slipped from 34/1 to 65/5, and the chase quickly fell apart. They were eventually bowled out for 129 in 17.5 overs, giving India a comfortable 90-run victory.

India’s bowlers were impressive from the start. Abhishek Sharma starred with three wickets, while debutant Yash Thakur enjoyed a memorable first international outing by picking up two wickets. The remaining bowlers also played their part to keep Zimbabwe under pressure throughout the innings.

With the series already in the bag, India will now aim to complete a 3-0 clean sweep when the two sides face each other in the third and final T20I on Sunday.
