India all-rounder Axar Patel is just one wicket away from reaching a special milestone in T20I cricket. If he takes a wicket in the second T20I against England at Old Trafford in Manchester, he will complete 100 wickets in the format.

Axar is expected to keep his place in India's playing XI, giving him a great chance to achieve the landmark in Saturday's match.

The left-arm spinner made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in 2015 and has been a key part of India's white-ball setup ever since. He currently has 99 wickets in T20 internationals.

If he reaches the 100-wicket mark, Axar will become the first Indian spinner to achieve the feat in T20Is.

While writing this copy, only three Indian bowlers have taken 100 or more wickets in T20Is. Arshdeep Singh leads the list with 131 wickets in 87 matches, followed by Jasprit Bumrah with 121 wickets in 95 games. Hardik Pandya is third with 114 wickets from 138 T20I outings.

Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi feature in 2nd T20I vs England?

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shared a cryptic post on social media hinting that he will feature in the second T20I against England. However, India coach Morne Morkel clearly mentioned that the Indian management wants to give a long rope to their regular openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, considering their performance for the side in their T20 World Cup 2026 triumph.

However, England have already announced their playing XI for the second T20I with two changes, as Saqib Mahmood and Luke Wood have been left out to make room for the two pacers.
