Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and opted to bowl against Gujarat Titans (GT) at iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Notably, CSK legend MS Dhoni has left the CSK camp before their last league game and travelled back to Ranchi. Apart from that CSK featured with two changes as Gurjapneet comes in for Akeal and Matt Short in place of Veer.

CSK and GT have faced each other 9 times in the IPL. Out of these, CSK have won 4 matches, while GT have secured 5 victories. This is their second outing of the IPL 2026. Earlier, the Gujarat-based franchise defeated CSK by eight wickets.

Captains at toss

GT Captain Shubman Gill: We wanted to bowl first too, but now it's too late here. We have one change. Prasidh comes in place of Sai Kishore. Hopefully we keep our intensity with the ball. The job is not done and hopefully three good games from here.

CSK Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad: We are going to bowl first. There will be some pace and bounce and we want to explore it early on. We have two changes. Gurjapneet comes in for Akeal and Matt Short in place of Veer. It is about trusting the process and we didn't get the reuslts our way. We want to keep it simple and turn it around.
