Former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja feels the time has come for young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to be given a chance in the Indian senior team.

Jadeja revealed that he even spoke to chief selector Ajit Agarkar during the IPL 2026 final and asked when the 15-year-old prodigy would finally get his India call-up.

Sooryavanshi’s remarkable performances over the last year have strengthened the case for his inclusion. Despite his young age, he has already achieved several milestones and has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in world cricket.

Speaking after the tournament, Sooryavanshi said the season taught him important lessons about handling pressure and adapting to different situations.

“This season helped me understand how to play in pressure situations and how important it is to adjust your game. You can’t play every match in the same way. You need to understand the situation and do what’s best for the team,” he said.

The youngster also rewrote the IPL record books. He smashed 72 sixes during the season, breaking the previous record of 59 sixes held by West Indies great Chris Gayle.

Explaining his fearless approach, Sooryavanshi said he always trusts his instincts.

“I back my game. If I feel I can hit a ball for a six, I go for it and try to play positively,” he said.
