Australia's batting problems continued on their white-ball tour of Bangladesh as the visitors suffered a shocking collapse in the second ODI on Thursday. Missing several key players from their regular squad, Australia found themselves at 0/3 after just two overs against the hosts.
What is the unwanted record created by Australia?
The poor start put Australia into an unwanted record book. It was only the third time in ODI history that a team lost its first three wickets without scoring a single run.
Who are the other teams holding the record?
The first such incident happened during the 1983 World Cup when Pakistan slipped to 0/3 against New Zealand in Birmingham. Legendary fast bowler Richard Hadlee dismissed Mohsin Khan, Mudassar Nazar and Zaheer Abbas, all without scoring.

The second came in the 2003 World Cup when Bangladesh were reduced to 0/3 against Sri Lanka in Pietermaritzburg. Chaminda Vaas created history by taking a hat-trick with the first three balls of the match, removing Hannan Sarkar, Mohammad Ashraful and Ehsanul Haque.
Australia's current schedule
Australia are currently playing a three-match ODI series followed by three T20Is in Bangladesh. The home side made a strong start to the tour by winning the opening ODI earlier this week, securing only their second-ever ODI victory over Australia and their first on home soil.
In the first match, Bangladesh posted 284/8 thanks to valuable contributions from Mosaddek Hossain, who remained unbeaten on 86, Najmul Hossain Shanto's 67 and Tanzid Hasan Tamim's 54.
Fast bowler Nahid Rana then starred with the ball, claiming four wickets. Australia were struggling at 191/9 in 42.2 overs when rain stopped play. With the match unable to resume, Bangladesh were awarded an 86-run win under the DLS method.
The second ODI followed a similar pattern for Australia. After choosing to bat first, they crashed to 0/3 and later slipped further to 81/6. Marnus Labuschagne and Xavier Bartlett then fought back with a century partnership. Labuschagne remained unbeaten on 55, while Bartlett scored 52.
However, Australia's troubles returned after Bartlett's dismissal. They were 187/8 after 42 overs when rain once again interrupted play at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
With Bangladesh leading the series 1-0, Australia now need a win to keep the contest alive. The third and final ODI will also be played in Dhaka on June 14.
