Anushka Sharma has become the latest target of online trolling after the heated on-field exchange between her husband Virat Kohli and Travis Head during the IPL 2026 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad.

Soon after the match, several users flooded Anushka’s social media posts with abusive comments, despite her having no involvement in the incident. The actress and producer has not reacted publicly to the trolling so far. However, Anushka's Instagram is filled with a lot of hateful comments, abuses and Kohli's edited images.

Interestingly, the online backlash was not limited to Anushka alone. Travis Head’s wife Jessica also faced similar abuse from a section of Kohli’s fans after the fiery moment between the two cricketers went viral on social media. Unlike Anushka, Jessica openly spoke about the hate she received online.
When did the controversy start?
The controversy started during RCB’s chase of 256 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium last Friday. Kohli and Head were seen having a heated verbal exchange in the middle of the game. Reports claimed that Head tried to provoke Kohli by asking him to play more attacking shots.
Kohli responded with a sarcastic gesture and reportedly told Head to come and bowl instead of talking from the boundary line, referring to his role as an Impact Player.
Interestingly, Head later bowled an over and dismissed RCB captain Rajat Patidar. However, Kohli had already lost his wicket by that stage.
Another moment from the match added fuel to the controversy. During the post-match handshakes, Kohli avoided greeting Head, and the clip quickly spread across social media platforms.
