Washington Hilton Dinner Shooting: The shooting at Washington’s Hilton Hotel during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner has sent shockwaves across the world. US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were swiftly evacuated by Secret Service agents on Saturday night after a man opened fire on security personnel near the venue.
The high-profile event was attended by Trump, Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, alongside several senior political leaders and distinguished guests. All attendees were reported safe.
According to Reuters, the suspect opened fire with a shotgun at a Secret Service checkpoint inside the Washington Hilton Hotel before being overpowered and arrested.
However, this is not the first time Trump has been targeted. The latest incident marks the third major attack or attempted attack involving Donald Trump, highlighting a disturbing pattern of security threats surrounding the US President.

During a presidential campaign rally in Las Vegas, a significant security scare unfolded when a man approached the stage and attempted to seize a police officer’s firearm, allegedly intending to assassinate Trump. Security officers immediately restrained and arrested the suspect, who later reportedly confessed to his intentions.

Trump faced one of the gravest attacks of his political career during an election rally in Pennsylvania. A gunman positioned on a rooftop opened fire, with one bullet grazing Trump’s upper right ear. The attack claimed the life of one spectator and injured several others. Security personnel fatally shot the attacker at the scene.
