Israel-US-Iran War: A fire broke out at a major oil storage facility, operated by Bapco Energies, in Bahrain on Sunday following an Iranian missile airstrike. Videos circulating on social media show a massive blaze engulfing a storage tank at one of the country's key refineries.

In one video shared by Iranian state media, Press TV, an aerial object can be seen descending rapidly toward the facility. Seconds later, a massive fireball erupts, engulfing part of the refinery's storage infrastructure.

Another video, shared by RT News, shows thick black smoke rising into the sky as flames rage in the background.

Bapco Energies Confirms One Of Its Storage Tanks Caught Fire

The Bapco Energies, in an official statement, confirmed that one of its storage tanks caught fire following what it described as an Iranian attack.

The company said the emergency response teams acted swiftly, adding, "The fire has been extinguished, and damage is being assessed". No injuries have been reported, according to news agency Reuters.

Bapco also said its teams worked 'in close coordination with authorities' to bring the situation under control.

Bahrain's Interior Ministry said that civil defence teams were deployed immediately after the incident. Additionally, sirens were sounded in the surrounding area, with residents urged to remain calm and move to nearby safe locations while emergency crews responded.

Key Refinery Hit Amid Escalating Tensions

The refinery is a crucial part of Bahrain's economy, processing around 400,000 barrels of oil per day. However, this is not the first such attack on the facility.

It was struck in a similar incident last month, impacting operations and prompting a declaration of force majeure.

This comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East after the United States and Israel launched coordinated airstrikes on Iran on February 28. The attacks killed Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In retaliation, Iran bombed assets of the US and its allies in the Gulf and blocked shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial passage for about one-fifth of the world's oil and gas.
