Another strike hit the Khorramabad International Airport in western Iran, and an attack on an unidentified target in Alborz province, northwest of Tehran, killed 18 people, according to state media. A total of 15 people were killed in other strikes, Iranian media reported.

Early Tuesday, Tehran launched seven ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia, which authorities said rained debris near energy facilities as they were intercepted. The attacks prompted Saudi Arabia to temporarily close the King Fahd Causeway, the only road connection between Bahrain, home to the US Navy's 5th Fleet, and the Arabian Peninsula.

At least nine people were while 15 others sustained injuries after a residential building was attacked by latest US-Israeli strikes in Iran's Shahriar city.

The attacks followed a specific advisory issued by the Israeli defence forces earlier in the day. The Israeli military had released a warning directed at Iranian citizens, advising them "against using trains for their 'safety' until 9 pm local time (17:30 GMT)".

The Israeli military on Tuesday said that it launched fresh attacks on Iran, as Trump's Tuesday deadline to agree on a truce nears. Attacks were reported by Iranian news outlets on at least five locations, including Shahriar, Kashan, Karaj and Qazvin.

US President Donald Trump once again warned Iran to make a deal on Tuesday, saying a "whole civilization will die tonight" if an agreement is not reached to end the conflict.

The King Fahd Causeway, linking Bahrain with Saudi Arabia, has been opened after being closed overnight after Iran threatened to attack key bridges in the Middle East.

The current oil and gas crisis triggered by the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is "more serious than the ones in 1973, 1979 and 2002 together", Fatih Birol, the head of the International Energy Agency (IEA), told Le Figaro newspaper. "The world has never experienced a disruption to energy supply of such magnitude," he said in an interview with the French newspaper released in its Tuesday edition.

He said the European countries, as well as Japan, Australia an others will suffer, but the countries most at risk were developing nations which will suffer from higher oil and gas prices, higher food prices and a general acceleration of inflation. The IEA member countries agreed last month to release part of their strategic reserves. Some of this had already been released, and the process continues, said Birol.

Siren alrams have been activated in Aqaba amid interception of ballistic missiles, Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday.
