Amid the ongoing Iran-US war in the Middle East, United States President Donald Trump on Thursday reposted a photo of the map of Strait of Hormuz on his TruthSocial handle. What made the post interesting was the modified map of the crucial water channel where it was renamed "Strait of Trump".

This comes after Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that Iran had spiked global oil prices to USD 120 per barrel, ridiculing US naval blockade on oil exports. He added that the next hike would be USD 140.

Forget Nuclear Weapons: Trump

Trump on Wednesday described the ongoing US naval blockade against Iran as a brilliant strategy, saying that Tehran will have to accept defeat. There can be no agreement until it abandons its nuclear ambitions. The US has made this sea route even more dangerous by blockading Iran's ports.

Our Army Is Most Powerful, Blockade Will Continue

Trump further said, "The blockade showed them how powerful our Navy is. I can tell you, nobody can mess with us. We have the most powerful military in the world, most of which I built during my first term, and we've been building it ever since. It's the most powerful anywhere in the world, nobody even comes close."

Several reports have stated that the blockade is causing significant problems for Iran. Axios, citing three sources familiar with the matter, said that US Central Command (CENTCOM) has developed a plan for a "small but powerful" attack on Iran to break the negotiation deadlock.

CENTCOM can target Iranian infrastructure in its strikes. These attacks are intended to pressure Iran to initiate negotiations. Trump has stated that a blockade is more effective than bombing and that he may authorize kinetic action. It should be noted that this blockade is preventing the movement of Iranian ships.
