Operation Sindoor: Over a year after Operation Sindoor, a Pakistani official has falsely claimed that two Indian airbases got destroyed during the military conflict; however, those bases do not even exist. During a TV interview, a Pakistani official claimed that two Indian airbases, Rajouri and Mamun, were targeted and destroyed by Islamabad. However, the experts were quick to point out that these claims are bogus and bizarre, as no such airbase exists in India.
What Pakistani Officer Claimed?
The Pakistani official claimed that the airbases were targeted under Operation Bunyan Ul Marsoos, an operation launched by Islamabad in retaliation. "They were assigned two targets, Rajouri airbase and Mamun airbase," the Pakistani official was heard saying in the viral video. The experts pointed out that Pakistani attacks did no major damage in India, as its drones and missiles were detected and intercepted by the Indian defence system.

Rajouri is a city in Jammu and Kashmir that lies along the line of control and is heavily guarded by the armed forces. Similarly, Mamun is located in Punjab's Pathankot district and is near the Pakistan border; however, none of them has an airbase. Earlier in 2025, Indian armed forces confirmed that Pakistan tried to hit several Indian cities by using long-range weapons; however, all of them were intercepted.
Operation Sindoor Details
Earlier in May 2025, the Air Force launched strategic attacks against the terror sites in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and Pakistan's territory. It eliminated over 100-200 terrorists in the deadly strikes and also destroyed Pakistani air defense radars and 20 per cent of their air assets. India also destroyed nine high-value terror launchpads linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
The key operation was launched after 26 tourists were brutally killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam district by the terrorists. In a high-profile meeting held immediately after the attack, India pledged to retaliate and teach a lesson to those giving shelters to these terrorists.
