Pakistan Blast: At least 11 people were killed, and 30 others were injured in a blast in Dera Ismail Khan, located in northwestern Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Emergency personnel immediately launched rescue operations and rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, where several of the injured remain in critical condition.
Explosives-Laden Vehicle Detonated At Security Post
According to police and emergency response officials cited by the Associated Press, a suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at a roadside police checkpoint, causing severe damage to the security post.
TTP Claims Responsibility
The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack in an official statement. Pakistan has witnessed a surge in militant attacks in recent years, with several of them claimed by the TTP and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist group primarily active in neighbouring Balochistan province.

Video Shows Thick Cloud Of Grey Smoke
Videos circulating on social media showed a thick cloud of grey smoke rising from the scene shortly after the explosion. On-ground footage from the blast site showed severe structural damage, with bricks, concrete fragments, and debris scattered across the area.

Pakistan Mosque Blast
The suicide bombing in Dera Ismail Khan occurred a week after a similar incident in Kohat, a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near the Afghan border.
In that incident, an attacker rammed a explosives-laden vehicle into a mosque adjacent to a police facility. The blast caused the outer wall of the police offices to collapse and severely damaged the mosque building.
A total of 21 people were killed and 78 others were injured in the Kohat explosion. As the mosque was situated near the police headquarters, 15 police officers were among the dead.
