Reconstruction has concluded at Markaz Subhanallah, the Bahawalpur headquarters of the UN-sanctioned terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), approximately 15 months after the complex sustained severe damage during India's Operation Sindoor retaliatory strikes in May last year.

Fresh Footage Shows JeM's Bahawalpur Headquarters Operational Again

Fresh footage has emerged, indicating the facility is once again fully operational. Its domes have been rebuilt, and new plaster and paint have been applied, along with premium marble flooring, completely covering up the previous blast damage.

Deep blast zones within the main hall were filled with concrete, while ruined adjacent structures, including the Al-Sabir seminary and housing units for leadership, were demolished to enable new construction.

According to intelligence reports, Pakistani authorities provided 250 million PKR in cash to Jaish-e-Mohammed, with approximately 110 million PKR dedicated specifically to restoring the central complex over a 15-month period.

Masood Azhar's Brothers Take Control Of Bahawalpur Facility

With JeM chief Masood Azhar incapacitated by severe health issues, the day-to-day command of the Bahawalpur facility has passed to his brothers, Talha Al-Saif and Mohinuddin Aurangzeb (Ammar Alvi).

Meanwhile, intelligence sources say that both Masood Azhar and key commander Rauf Asghar are under government protection in Sindh's Nawabshah district.

Operation Sindoor

In May 2025, the Indian Air Force launched strategic attacks against terror sites in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and Pakistani territory. The strikes neutralised scores of terrorists and destroyed nine high-value terror launchpads linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

The operation was launched after 26 people were killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam district by terrorists. In a high-profile meeting held immediately after the attack, India pledged to retaliate and teach a lesson to those giving shelter to these terrorists.
