Iran War: Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has responded to the Western media reports suggesting serious injuries to him in the US-Israel attack. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Khamenei asserted that the unity in Iran during the war has "fractured" the enemies. The Iranian supreme leader further stated that unity among the citizens has strengthened internal cohesion, adding that enemy media has intended to undermine national unity in the war-torn nation.

Khamenei, in his post, urged the Iranian citizens to neglect the reports intended to target the minds of the people. "Due to the strange unity created among compatriots, a fracture has occurred in the enemy. With the practical gratitude for this blessing, cohesion has become even greater and more steel-like, and the enemies will become more wretched and diminished," Khamenei stated in his post.

"The enemy's media operations, by targeting the minds and psyches of the people, intend to undermine national unity and security; may our negligence not allow this sinister intent to come to fruition," he added. Khamenei's clarification came after several US reports suggested that he was severely injured in the airstrike, adding that he has been functioning in an isolated space with limited access.

As per a report by The New York Times, the communication with him is being carried out with handwritten notes amid the security concerns. Iranian media, on numerous occasions, has refuted such reports by calling them baseless. However, Khamenei has not made any public appearance since taking the top post in Iran, leading to suspicions.

Khamenei's message of unity has come at a time when several reports have suggested that the IRGC has taken control over the key power centres of the country and has sidelined President Masoud Pezeshkian. It has blocked presidential appointments and imposed restrictions on meeting the current Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, reported Iran International.
