Iran War 2026: In a major development in the Iran War, a French-flagged ship was reportedly allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, reported AFP. The event is crucial as Maltese-flagged Kribi, belonging to the France's CMA CGM, became the first European ship to pass through the chokepoint since the war began. The movement of crude ships has been affected, leading to an energy crisis across the world. The IRGC stated that the Hormuz was open for the selected ships; however, it threatened the US allies.

While over 100 ships were crossing through the Hormuz before the war began, only a few selected vessels were allowed to pass after the war began. The disruption has led to a significant surge in the prices of fuels across the world, especially in the Europe. While the Iranian forces have allowed the ships of Asian countries, it threatened to attack the ships belonging to the allies of the US and Israel.

As per the reports, the ship began its journey from Muscat on Friday with message "owner France" on its transponder system. While France is considered a close ally to the US, the IRGC still allowed the ship to pass through the Hormuz. The relations between the US and France have not been at its best lately as the American President Donald Trump blasted Paris for not helping the US in clearing the chokepoint.

While the US asked its European allies to join the war, several nations, including France, Germany, UK, and Italy reminded that they were not consulted before attacking Iran. While slamming their decision, Trump asserted that the European nations were only the paper tigers, adding that the US will not forget this "betrayal".

Apart from this, in a bizarre incident, Trump claimed that French President Emmanuel Macron was not treated fairly by his wife. His remarks were reportedly not welcomed by the French authorities, furthering worsening the ties between the two nations.
