US-Iran Ceasefire: Less than 24 hours after Pakistan brokered a peace deal between Iran and the United States, Tehran on Wednesday halted the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, warning it could withdraw from the ceasefire if Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

"Simultaneous with Israel's attacks on Lebanon, the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz has been stopped," Iran's Fars news agency reported.

Iran Considering Possibility Of Exiting Ceasefire?

Iran is currently considering withdrawing from the ceasefire agreement due to the "Zionist regime's continued violations through its attacks on Lebanon", Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported, citing an official.

The official stressed that Israel's attacks on Lebanon are a clear violation of the terms of the ceasefire. "If America cannot control its rabid dog in the region, Iran will exceptionally help it in this matter…and it will do so with force," the official added.

Is Lebanon Included In The Two-Week Ceasefire?

Pakistan, which is said to be a mediator of the fragile ceasefire, stated that the ceasefire includes Lebanon. However, Israel stated otherwise, Republic World reported.

Despite the ceasefire, an Israeli airstrike targeted an ambulance in the town of Al-Qlailah in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon, killing at least four people.

Israel has reiterated that its military operations in Lebanon will continue. In an official statement, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office said the two-week ceasefire applies only to direct hostilities involving Iran and does not extend to Lebanon.

"Israel supports President Donald Trump's decision to suspend strikes against Iran for two weeks," the statement read, adding that the pause is conditional on Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz and halting attacks on the US, Israel, and regional partners.

It, however, emphasised that "the two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon".
