- Boys' school in Khomein, Iran, attacked by missiles.
- School building and adjoining houses demolished; no casualties.
- Follows deadly Minab girls' school attack, US denies targeting.
After a deadly attack on a girls’ school in Minab, local media reported on Monday regarding fresh attacks on a boys’ school in Iran. According to a report by Iran’s Fars news agency, US-Israeli forces launched a massive missile attack on the Shahid Khomeini Boys’ School. Although reports claimed there were no casualties, several adjoining houses and a school building were demolished in the attack.
Quoting Mehr news agency, a deputy governor of Iran’s Markazi province, said that a school was attacked in the city of Khomein without causing any casualties.
In a post on Telegram, the Iranian Red Crescent Society shared the same photos that were earlier posted by Fars with a caption, reading: “Airstrike on a school in Khomein”, reported Al Jazeera.

Minab school attack
Notably, the attack came nearly two weeks after a strike on an Iranian girls' school killed 165 schoolgirls. The majority of those killed in the strikes were girls between the ages of 7 and 12 years old. Neither the United States nor the Israeli Government has yet taken responsibility for this attack.

However, news agency Reuters, citing two sources familiar with the matter on Wednesday, reported that the outdated US data was to be blamed for the attack. Video surfaced that experts say appears to show a US Tomahawk missile striking the area. But exactly how the tragedy unfolded has remained unclear, and the Pentagon has declined to comment, saying the investigation remains ongoing.
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth responds
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and other US officials have stressed that the United States would not deliberately target civilians. Deliberately attacking a school, hospital, or any other civilian structure would likely be a war crime under international humanitarian law. Images of the girl's funeral were shown on Iranian state television last week.
