Amid the ongoing war in West Asia, the exchange of bitter rhetoric between the United States and Iran has also intensified, following an expletive-laden threatening post by US President Donald Trump. Iran retorted with a swipe, calling Trump 'old man'.
Taking to Truth Social, US President Donald Trump warned Tehran that if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday, it would face major attacks on its power plants and bridges. In an abusive tone, Trump said, "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***n’ Strait, you crazy bas***s, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah."
Following Trump's statement, the Iranian embassy in India responded sharply, equating Trump with a sore loser.
In a post on X, the Iranian embassy said, "Swearing and throwing insults are how sore loser brats behave. Get a grip on yourself, old man!"

In an earlier post, the embassy reminded the US of the failed 1980 mission, Operation Eagle Claw.
The Iranian Embassy shared a video, saying that US forces had suffered heavy losses at that time. An Iranian military spokesman claimed that the recent US rescue operation was also a complete failure.
Speaking about the US operation to rescue an airman after an F-15E went down, Iran stated that American aircraft were damaged during the operation and that their plan was foiled in time. However, Iran did not deny that American troops were successful in evacuating their pilot.
There was a significant difference between the claims of the US and Iran. While Trump called the operation a major success, Iran called it a failure. Iranian media also released photos showing the wreckage of the burned-out planes.
Meanwhile, Iran has kept the Strait of Hormuz closed and intensified attacks on Gulf countries, including Israel. Damage has also been reported in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait. US bases in Iraq have also been attacked, while the conflict has escalated in Lebanon between Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that an attack on the Bushehr nuclear plant could spread radiation, posing a significant threat to Gulf countries.
