- Asad Hussain convicted of stalking ex-partner.
- Used fake Tinder profile to harass victim.
- Men arrived at her home due to fake profile.
A shocking case of online fraud that turned into real-life danger has ended with a conviction. A man used a fake dating profile to harass and target his former partner. After a nine-day trial at an England court, 36-year-old Asad Hussain was found guilty of stalking. He will be sentenced in June.
A Relationship That Turned Toxic
The court heard that Hussain, from Cheadle in Greater Manchester, contacted the woman in April 2024 using the fake name “Mick Renney.” Their relationship started normally but soon became commanding.
In one incident, he rang her doorbell again and again for almost two hours while she had a male friend at home. He only stopped when the police arrived. The relationship ended the next month after he checked her phone and questioned her about other men. Even after the breakup, he kept bothering her, contacting her friends and daughter, making false claims, and trying to get back with her.
Fake Profile, Real Danger
Soon after the breakup, Hussain created a fake Tinder profile in the woman’s name. He sent messages pretending to be her, describing violent sexual fantasies and inviting men to her home.

At least 18 men came to her house because of these messages. On one night, four men showed up with similar texts. Some situations became dangerous. One man tried to force the door open, saying he was told to “give it a shove.” In another case, a man entered the house while the woman was out, not knowing her teenage daughter was inside.
Police said this caused serious fear and danger.
How He Was Caught
At first, police could not find out who “Mick Renney” was. Later, they linked the fake name to Hussain through a vehicle connected to his business. They also found he had changed his car registration and used multiple phones.
Even though Hussain denied everything, police proved he had been near the woman’s home whenever the fake profile was active.
The police called the case very disturbing. They said Hussain tried hard to hide his identity and avoid being caught, but he failed.
