  1. Viral video shows Trump appearing to doze in Oval Office.
  2. Sparks debate on his health and energy levels.
  3. Contradicts Marco Rubio's "doesn't sleep" claim.

US president Donald Trump, widely popular for his viral appearances and posts, has once again appeared in a brief video showing him appearing to close his eyes and momentarily lower his head during an Oval Office event, which has gone viral on social media, triggering fresh discussion about his health and energy levels. The footage surfaced just days after Secretary of State Marco Rubio insisted that Trump "doesn't sleep."

Shared widely on X, the video showed Trump seated at the Resolute Desk in the White House event, with others around him. The short few seconds prompted online discussions that the 79-year-old President may have been sleeping, although there is nothing to conclusively confirm this from the footage alone.

Rubio's Remark Resurfaces

The viral moment gained additional attention because it came shortly after Rubio defended Trump's stamina during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing. The exchange occurred when Representative Ted Lieu questioned Rubio about videos that appeared to show Trump dozing off during official meetings.

“You will see that he is sleeping while you are talking,” Lieu had told Rubio before playing a video of Trump with closed eyes during a Cabinet meeting while Rubio was speaking.

Rubio stated, “That's false. I've never seen him fall asleep. On the contrary, the guy doesn't sleep. Which is a big problem, because he calls me at 2 in the morning, he calls me at 5 in the morning, and you know, I like to sleep a little bit.”

Social Media Reacts

With the circulation of this recent video in the Oval Office, social media users quickly took to pointing out the apparent contradiction between Rubio's remarks and the viral footage, re-igniting debates over the 79-year-old leader’s public image. As this footage continues to be widely shared on social media, Trump’s supporters and critics offer differing views on the incident.

No official confirmation has been given that the President indeed slept during this Oval Office event, nor that the event’s entire context has been independently verified.
