In a shocking case, a retired Hindu school teacher, his wife and their two children were found dead inside their locked home under suspicious circumstances late on Saturday night in Bangladesh.
According to The Daily Star, the bodies were found in different areas while their belongings were scattered. The police officials said that the bodies were recovered around 11:30 PM from the Daspara (Machhuapara) area of Rangpur city.
The cops have identified the deceased as Ganapati Chakraborty (65), his wife Pritilata Chakraborty (50), their daughter Agami Chakraborty Prarthi (23) and a son (12).
According to the report, Ganapati had retired from Rangpur Zilla School. His body was found on the roof. Pritilata's body was found on the staircase.
Agami had completed her master's in English from Carmichael College this year, and her body was found on the staircase, along with her mother. The 12-year-old son was a class5 student and was found dead under a bed.
Cause of death
The report cited Subir Chowdhury, in charge of the Rangpur Metropolitan CID, saying that the belongings were found scattered, which makes the incident appear as a robbery attempt.
He, however, added that the exact cause of their deaths and the preceding circumstances would become clear only after the complete investigation.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Sanatan Chakrabarty said that the bodies were sent to the morgue for post-mortem.
He said that the suspected cause of their death is strangulation. Ropes were found around their necks.

Main gate was locked, woman's sister claims phones were off since Thursday
The Daily Star report cited Pritilata's younger sister, Puja, alleging that the family's mobile phones had been switched off since Thursday night. She added that on Saturday night, when she arrived at their house, the main gate was locked and the lights were off.
Ganapati's niece, Soma Chakraborty, who had spoken to him on Thursday afternoon, said that he had no enemies and was practising as a homoeopathic practitioner after hi retirement.
