US-Iran War: The military supremacy of America, for the first time in decades, was exposed in the ongoing US-Israel war against Iran. People are shocked by seeing Tehran's military prowess after it downed two US aircraft. At least one pilot was missing. The development comes just two days after President Donald Trump said in a national address that the US has "beaten and completely decimated Iran's military power."
Is It A Turning Point Of The War?
The downing of an F-15E Strike Eagle and an A-10 Warthog attack aircraft is moreover a symbolic defeat of the US military's prowess, which is considered invincible. The US boasts to be a line of defence for the Gulf allies, but Iran's strikes in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait unveiled its vulnerability. The downing of the US fighter jet has emboldened the Iranian military and proxy groups (Houthis and Hezbollah), and they may become more confident and aggressive. It is not a major military loss in terms of logistics, but psychologically and politically. What had previously in the first week of the war appeared "one-sided" has now become a tough war. So, it could be a turning point because Iran showed that its military can wage war for a long time, which the US does not want. The latest setback sends a message to Americans that they cannot remain unaffected.

Iran's Diplomatic Position Strengthened
Contrary to Trump's claim that Iran's military has been destroyed, Tehran's Revolutionary Guard shot down an American aircraft, showing that the President is wrong. This has put Iran in an advantageous position at the negotiation table, which is reportedly underway in Pakistan. Now, Tehran can go for a hard negotiation on its terms to end the war.

13 Killed, 365 US Service Members Wounded In Iran War
As of Friday, 365 US service members have been injured in the war. 247 of the wounded were Army soldiers, 63 were Navy sailors, 19 were Marines and 36 were Air Force airmen, according to Pentagon data available online. The current death toll remains at 13 service members killed in combat.
The war, now entering its sixth week, is destabilising economies around the world as Iran responds to the US and Israeli attacks by targeting the Gulf region's energy infrastructure and tightening its grip on oil and natural gas shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
Political Pressure on the Trump Administration
Trump, whose rating is falling, is set to face a fresh wave of protest in his country. The Democrats may increase their pressure on Trump to withdraw troops to save the global fuel economy. The incident has dealt a blow to Trump's "quick war" image. The opposition, and even some Republicans, are now asking, "How long will this war last?"
Iran Attacking US Firms
After the US attacked Iranian civil infrastructure, Iran started targeting US companies located in the Middle East. Iran's Revolutionary Guard has threatened to attack Oracle and 17 other US companies after accusing them of being involved in "terrorist espionage" operations in Iran. Authorities in Dubai said the facades of two buildings were damaged by debris from intercepted drones, including one belonging to US tech firm Oracle. Previous Iranian drone strikes caused damage to three Amazon Web Services facilities in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
