AI Wearable Stolen At India AI Impact Summit: What was supposed to be a proud moment for a Bengaluru startup turned into a nightmare inside one of India’s biggest tech events. Dhananjay Yadav, co-founder and CEO of NeoSapien, says his company’s AI wearable device was stolen during the India AI Impact Summit in Delhi. The shocking part, he claims, is that the expo area had been cleared and sealed ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, meaning only security and authorised people had access.
In a post on X, Yadav shared his frustration. "Day 1 of the AI Impact Summit turned out to be a pain for us," he wrote. "I came genuinely excited, it was the first time the summit was being hosted in India, and I wanted to show up personally to support the ecosystem and the government’s push. But what happened next was shocking," he further added.
According to him, security personnel arrived at 12 pm to sanitise and seal the area before the Prime Minister’s 2 pm visit. He explained to them that NeoSapien had developed India’s first patented AI wearable and requested permission to stay and showcase it. One officer reportedly allowed him to remain, but soon another group of security staff asked everyone to vacate immediately. "Seemed like there was a lack of coordination between the security itself," Yadav wrote.

Before leaving, he even asked if he should carry the AI devices with him. He was told that other founders were leaving laptops behind and that security would take care of everything. "Trusting them, I left. Hoping that the wearables will be safe, and if I am lucky, it might catch the eye of PM Modi," he wrote.

I came genuinely excited, it was the first time the summit was being hosted in India, and I wanted to show up personally to support the ecosystem and the government’s push.

However, the gates were closed from 12–6 pm. Much longer than expected. Later, they found out that our wearables were stolen. He later shared photos showing empty boxes scattered at the stall. He pointed out that his team had spent money on travel, stay, logistics, and the booth space. "Think about this: We paid for flights, accommodation, logistics, and even the booth. Only to see our wearables disappear inside a high-security zone," he said.
Raising serious questions, Yadav asked how such a theft could happen in an area that was supposedly under strict security. "If only security and official entourage had access, how did this happen? This is extremely disappointing," he concluded.

Social Media Reaction:
One user wrote, "We need a civic sense summit instead of an AI summit." "This is truly a disgraceful act at such a stage," a second user wrote. "Really sorry to hear about this. I'm curious who was allowed to showcase? What about CCTV footage? Who is accountable?" asked a third user.
What began as a proud showcase for Indian innovation ended with confusion, anger, and unanswered questions.
