Penguin Awareness Day is observed every year on 20 January to raise awareness about flightless seabirds, penguins, their unique way of living and the difficulties they undergo in their natural habitats. This awareness day highlights the need for conservation of these flying birds, which mostly reside in the Southern Hemisphere.
Penguins are an essential part of the ecosystem in the ocean, as they occupy both the roles of predator and prey in the food chain. Nevertheless, the combination of climate change, ice melting, and fishing is driving these birds towards extinction.
The day aims to raise awareness among people about penguins, especially children and wildlife lovers, drawn to this little creature. Learning their behaviour, what they live on, the patterns of their struggle for survival and taking every little step that we can to preserve their future.
Fun And Interesting Penguin Facts
