Telangana News: A disturbing case of animal cruelty has come to the fore in Telangana, where dozens of goats were bitten on the neck by a man in a religious ritual during the Bhimna Jatra Festival in the Jagtial district. The incident took place at a religious site in Raikal town and has sparked massive outrage.

The brutality of the ritual was captured in visuals showing a man biting the necks of goats and leaving them bleeding to death. In the video, widely shared on social media platforms, the individual was seen with blood smeared across his face and body as the animals suffered a slow and painful end.

Animal Cruelty In Telangana

This is not an isolated incident in Telangana. In May 2025, a man was booked after a video of him surfaced online, showing him beheading a goat. Such acts have been condemned as both inhumane and illegal. In Telangana, the practice of biting or cutting a goat or sheep's neck is locally known as "Gagu Pattadam," a ritual performed in some villages to appease local deities.
