Hyderabad Traffic Advisory: Commuters travelling between Madhapur, Kaithalapur and Kukatpally are likely to face traffic inconvenience for the next seven days. The Cyberabad traffic police have announced the closure of a major stretch of IDL Lake Road starting January 31.

The decision has been taken to carry out repair work on a damaged trunk sewer line beneath the road.

Road to remain shut round the clock

According to the traffic advisory, the stretch connecting Madhapur and Kaithalapur to Kukatpally Y-Junction via IDL Lake Road will remain closed throughout the day and night during the repair period.

Officials said the closure is necessary to prevent further damage to the road surface and to ensure the safety of commuters.

Alternative routes suggested

Traffic police have warned of heavy congestion in the area and have advised motorists to use alternate routes.

  • Vehicles heading from Madhapur towards Kukatpally Y-Junction should travel via Yashoda Hospital, cross the railway overbridge, take a U-turn after the junction and then proceed towards Kukatpally.

  • As another option, commuters can move from Yashoda Hospital towards Kaithalapur, continue via Rainbow Vista, go straight towards Moosapet and take a left turn to reach Kukatpally Y-Junction.

Public urged to cooperate

Officials said these traffic arrangements have been made to allow smooth execution of the repair work while minimising risks to road users.

Commuters have been requested to plan their travel in advance, follow traffic advisories and cooperate with police personnel deployed in the area to ensure smoother movement of vehicles.
