Hyderabad: A 38-year-old software professional and her two teenage children were found dead along railway tracks between Cherlapally and Ghatkesar railway stations near Hyderabad, police said on Saturday. Authorities suspect the incident to be a case of suicide, though investigations are ongoing.

The bodies were found on the MMTS railway line close to Cherlapally station during the early hours of the day.

Soon after the alert, teams from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) rushed to the location and secured the area.

The bodies were found in a mutilated condition and were later shifted for further examination.

Victims identified as mother and children

Police identified the deceased as a woman working in the IT sector, her 18-year-old daughter who was studying in Class 12 and her 17-year-old son, a Class 11 student.

The family lived in Harithaharam Colony in Boduppal, located in Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana.

A senior GRP official from Secunderabad said initial observations suggest suicide, as no railway tickets were recovered from the spot, indicating the family did not plan to travel.

Bodies sent for post-mortem

The bodies have been moved to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police have informed the family members and will record their statements to understand the circumstances that led to the deaths.
