Xiaomi has quietly added a new smartwatch to its lineup in China, called the Xiaomi Watch S5. The device is already up for sale on the company’s official online store and is available in a few different styles and finishes. It comes in both Bluetooth-only and eSIM variants, depending on whether you want standalone connectivity or not.

At a glance, the Watch S5 sticks to a familiar round-dial design. It gets a 1.48-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of up to 2,500 nits, which should help with outdoor visibility. It also covers a wide range of use cases with support for over 150 sports modes, including basics like running, cycling, and swimming, along with automatic workout detection.

Talking about pricing, the Classic Bluetooth model starts at CNY 1,199 (around Rs. 16,000). The Fashion variant, which is also Bluetooth-only, is priced slightly higher at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs 19,000). The eSIM version, which comes with a leather strap, is priced at the same CNY 1,399.

In terms of looks, the Classic model comes in black and white, while the Fashion variant is offered in forged carbon and midnight blue. The eSIM option is limited to a beige finish.

The smartwatch works with both Android and iOS devices, specifically Android 8 and above, and iOS 14 or later. On the health side, it covers most of the essentials like heart rate tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, step count, calorie tracking, and even features like fall detection and menstrual cycle tracking. It can also give insights into breathing patterns during sleep.

Under the hood, it includes a full set of sensors, such as heart rate, SpO₂, accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, barometer, and ambient light sensor.

Battery is another area Xiaomi is highlighting. The Watch S5 packs an 815mAh battery, which is claimed to last up to 21 days with light usage. With regular health tracking, that drops to around 14 days, and if you keep the always-on display enabled, you can expect roughly 9 days.

On the design front, there’s a rotating crown and an extra button on the right side for navigation. You also get a built-in microphone and speaker. The watch measures 46x46x10.99mm and weighs about 46g, so it should feel fairly standard on the wrist.
