Xiaomi is getting ready for a packed event in China next week. The company has confirmed that it will take the wraps off its next foldable and a new tablet on September 7, with both devices expected to debut alongside the company’s latest mobile processor.

The event will begin at 7pm local time on September 7, 2026. Xiaomi made the announcement through its official Weibo account and confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max will be part of the event. Both devices will be powered by the new Xring O3 chip, which succeeds the Xring O1.

Xiaomi 18 Fold could bring a major design change

We have already seen quite a bit of the Xiaomi 18 Fold through leaks. Images of the phone have surfaced in a dark red finish, showing a wide book-style foldable with a redesigned look. The rear panel appears to house three cameras, placed inside a wide, capsule-shaped visor.

The Xring O3 is expected to be at the centre of the phone's performance. Leaked details point to a 10-core processor with the C1-Premium core clocked at up to 4.35GHz. The chip has also reportedly appeared on Geekbench AI, where it scored 629 points in the single-precision test and 799 points in the half-precision test.

Xiaomi could also be making the foldable tougher this time around. A redesigned hinge is reportedly being used, and this could allow the Xiaomi 18 Fold to carry an IP68 rating.

The display setup is said to include a 6.56-inch cover screen and a 7.76-inch inner display. Both panels are expected to use LTPO technology and offer an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate.

The camera hardware could be equally interesting. According to the leaks, the primary camera will use a 200-megapixel sensor, while the other two cameras will offer telephoto capabilities.

There is also a 6,000mAh battery in the leaked specifications, along with support for 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max has fewer details available

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max has been much quieter on the leak front. The tablet has reportedly shown up on Geekbench under the model number M367FC, recording 3,474 points in the single-core test and 13,299 points in the multi-core test.

That is pretty much all we know about the tablet for now, apart from Xiaomi confirming that it will use the new Xring O3 processor.

New Xiaomi SUVs will also debut

There is more to the September 7 event than just smartphones and tablets. Xiaomi will also introduce three new electric SUVs, namely the N70 Pro, N70 Max and N90 Max EV.

Lei Jun has already shared some information about the vehicles on Weibo. He says all three SUVs will use double-wishbone suspension at the front and multi-link suspension at the rear.

The vehicles will also come with features aimed at improving safety in difficult situations. These include high-speed tyre blowout stability control, emergency water-floating assistance and low-speed driving lights.

So, Xiaomi's September 7 event is shaping up to be much bigger than a regular product launch, with new mobile hardware and three EVs all set to make their debut on the same day.
