Xiaomi is getting ready to refresh its T-series lineup, and this time it doesn’t look like a routine upgrade. The upcoming Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro are already making noise through leaks, and there are a few clear shifts that stand out.
Launch Timeline And Rollout
According to tech blogger Paras Guglani, working with tipster Sanju Choudhary, Xiaomi is planning a late May launch. The promotional window is expected to begin around May 29 and continue till June 30.

Like previous launches, the phones will likely debut in select global markets first, followed by India and Europe.
Pricing Moves Into A Different Zone
The Xiaomi 17T is expected to land between Rs. 69,000 and Rs. 72,000 in India. That already places it firmly in the premium category.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro goes even higher, with expected pricing between Rs. 92,000 and Rs. 96,000. At that level, Xiaomi is stepping into territory where expectations shift significantly.
A Big Change In Performance Strategy
One of the biggest talking points is the chipset choice. The standard Xiaomi 17T is expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 instead of a Snapdragon processor.
That is a noticeable shift for the T-series, which has usually focused on Qualcomm chips for performance positioning. Based on a Geekbench listing, the chip could feature a peak clock speed of 3.4GHz, paired with a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU and 12GB RAM. The phone is also expected to run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Battery And Storage Options
The Xiaomi 17T could come with a 6,500mAh battery, which would be one of its biggest highlights if true. That kind of capacity is not common in this segment.
Storage options for the standard model may include 12GB with 256GB and 12GB with 512GB. The Pro variant is expected to go further, offering up to 1TB storage.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro could also be available in All Black, Deep Blue, and Deep Violet, keeping the design side in focus.
What This Means For Xiaomi
This does not feel like a simple upgrade cycle. The chipset change, the pricing jump, and the focus on battery suggest Xiaomi is trying something different with the T-series.
The question is whether this is a one-off experiment or the start of a new direction for its premium lineup.
