Xiaomi has expanded its flagship smartphone lineup in China with the launch of the Xiaomi 17 Max. Introduced during the company’s May 2026 launch event, the handset arrives as the fifth model in the Xiaomi 17 series. The event also saw the debut of the Xiaomi YU7 GT electric vehicle, Xiaomi Band 10 Pro, and Xiaomi Ear Clip TWS.
The new Xiaomi 17 Max focuses heavily on battery life and camera capabilities while retaining flagship-level hardware. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and comes equipped with a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. Xiaomi also claims this model packs the biggest battery seen in the Xiaomi 17 lineup so far.

Xiaomi 17 Max Price And Availability
The Xiaomi 17 Max starts at CNY 4,799 (roughly Rs. 68,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 16GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB options are priced at CNY 5,099 (roughly Rs. 72,000) and CNY 5,399 (around Rs. 76,000), respectively. Meanwhile, the top-end 16GB+512GB variant costs CNY 5,799 (approximately Rs. 82,000).
Pre-orders for the smartphone are already live in China, while official sales will begin on May 25 through the company’s online store. Xiaomi is offering the device in Pixel Black, Sky Blue, and White colour options.
Xiaomi 17 Max Specifications And Features
The Xiaomi 17 Max runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and features a large 6.9-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a resolution of 1200x2608 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, Dolby Vision, and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Xiaomi has also added Dragon Crystal 3.0 protection along with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the octa core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor built on a 3nm process. The chipset offers clock speeds of up to 4.6GHz and is paired with an Adreno GPU, Qualcomm AI Engine, up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.
For security, the handset features a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
Leica Cameras Take Centre Stage
The Xiaomi 17 Max comes with a Leica-tuned triple rear camera system. The setup is headlined by a 200-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, an f/1.65 aperture, and Samsung’s HP9 sensor. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering up to 3x optical zoom and another 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 102-degree field of view.
On the front, the phone houses a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. The device offers support for video recording at 4K with frame rate support up to 30fps.
Mega 8,000mAh Battery
Among the major attractions in the Xiaomi 17 Max is the 8,000mAh battery, the largest one available in the Xiaomi 17 range. The device provides support for 100W charging via a cable and 22.5W reverse wired charging.
The connectivity features available on the phone include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, NavIC, GLONASS, QZSS, and a USB Type-C slot. The phone is also equipped with numerous sensors, such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, e-compass, barometer, IR blaster, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and colour temperature sensor.
The Xiaomi 17 Max measures 162.9x77.6x8.2mm and weighs 225g.
