Vivo has introduced a new budget 5G smartphone in China called the Vivo Y60. The launch happened quietly without a major event, but the phone brings a mix of features aimed at users looking for long battery life and smooth everyday performance. The device joins the company’s Y-series lineup shortly after the arrival of the Vivo Y600 Pro.

The Vivo Y60 has been launched in three storage options and comes in Lucky Purple, Obsidian Black, and Shanhaiqing colour variants.

Pricing starts at CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 25,000) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version. The 6GB + 256GB model is priced at CNY 1,999 (around Rs. 28,000), while the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage costs CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs. 32,000).

On the front, the smartphone features a 6.74-inch LCD screen with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. Vivo says the display can show up to 16.7 million colours and carries a 20:9 aspect ratio, which should help with media consumption and scrolling.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor built on a 4nm process. The chipset is paired with an Adreno 613 GPU, up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone ships with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.

Vivo has also added an IP65 rating on the Y60, which means the handset comes with basic dust and water resistance.

For cameras, the Vivo Y60 keeps things fairly simple. It features a single 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and support for up to 10x digital zoom. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The biggest highlight of the smartphone is its 6,500mAh battery, which is expected to deliver extended usage on a single charge. However, charging speeds remain limited to 15W wired charging.
