After teasing the device for the past few days, Vivo has finally confirmed when the T5 Lite 5G will arrive in India. The new T series smartphone is scheduled to launch on July 16 and will go on sale via Flipkart soon after its debut.

Ahead of the launch, Vivo has started revealing some of the phone's headline features, suggesting that the T5 Lite 5G will bring meaningful upgrades over last year's Vivo T4 Lite. A larger battery, faster charging and a smoother display are among the changes already confirmed by the company.

Vivo T5 Lite 5G Launch Date

The Vivo T5 Lite 5G will be unveiled in India on July 16 at 12pm IST. Official teasers also give us our first look at the handset, which will be available in light blue and black colour options. The phone features a vertically aligned dual rear camera module on the back.

What Has Vivo Confirmed So Far?

One of the biggest upgrades is the battery. Vivo has confirmed that the T5 Lite 5G will pack a 6,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. That's a noticeable improvement over the Vivo T4 Lite, which came with a 6,000mAh battery and 15W charging.

Powering the smartphone will be MediaTek's Dimensity 6300 chipset, the same processor used in its predecessor. The display, however, is getting an upgrade with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and a claimed peak brightness of 1,200 nits.

The company has also confirmed an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD military-grade durability, making the phone better equipped to handle everyday wear and tear.

On the software side, the Vivo T5 Lite 5G will ship with Origin OS 6 based on Android. It will also include several AI-powered features such as AI Creation, AI Captions, AI Transcript Assist, AI Documents and Private Space.

More Details to Be Revealed

Flipkart and Vivo India have already published dedicated microsites for the upcoming smartphone, with the company confirming that more hardware details will be announced on July 11, a few days ahead of the launch.

For comparison, last year's Vivo T4 Lite 5G debuted at a starting price of Rs. 9,999 with a 6.74-inch 90Hz display, a 50-megapixel dual rear camera, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 6,000mAh battery and 15W charging. With a bigger battery, faster charging and a higher refresh rate display already confirmed, the Vivo T5 Lite 5G is shaping up to be a notable upgrade over its predecessor.
